MaKayla was one of our nurses who cared for my nephew, Z. From the very first moment we met her, she made this horrible situation so much more bearable. She took such good care of him. She would answer ALL our questions. She took care of us, too. She was not just our nurse, she was way more than that, she was our friend, she was family.  She took her time and was so patient with us all. She hugged us, she cried with us, she laughed with us and mostly, when we asked, she PRAYED for our Z with such grace and mercy.  Her prayers were powerful, meaningful and just genuine. She loved on us all with such passion.  I just want to take the time to tell her THANK YOU. Hands down, she is a fantastic person, a smart, knowledgeable nurse. She's just a true gem with a heart FULL of compassion. She didn't have to show Z love, but she did, she didn't have to pray, but she did, she didn't have to wipe my tears away, but she did. She not only took care of our pride and joy, she took care of us all, with NO hesitation. She was soft-spoken and looked us in the eyes when she spoke to us. She made us fully aware of everything going on, and that is so important. She was honest with us and helped us prepare for the inevitable, and we really needed that.  I just can not speak into words just how much we appreciated her, her spirit, her heart and her love. She's truly doing her calling. She is the perfect example of EXCELLENCE!!!! PLEASE acknowledge her on the behalf of our family. She deserves all the goodness that she gives out going far and beyond the call of duty. She is truly the calm in the storm. We just love her, thank her and are appreciative that she chose nursing as a career, she's PERFECT for this labor of LOVE. She is simply PRICELESS! Tell her we love her, for loving us, when she didn't have to! I wish nothing but GREATNESS for her.
