She encouraged me in hard moments, and I give her full credit for preventing me from developing pneumonia and a list of other complications.
Sharika took such amazing care of me for 3 days after what was my first major surgery. She made me feel so safe and cared for me in a way that felt like I was her only patient (I believe she had 5 more at the time) but she made me, and I’m sure each of them, feel like I was her only one by how incredibly on top of everything she was. She remembered even the smallest details – like exactly how much ice I preferred in my water. Sharika was so fun and made me laugh, and I felt safe, as if I was with a dear friend. She maintained my dignity in situations where one would not think it was possible to be dignified in any way. She was so prompt and advocated for all my needs – even ones I didn’t know I had. She encouraged me in hard moments, and I give her full credit for preventing me from developing pneumonia and a list of other complications. When it was finally time to go home, I was so sad to leave her and couldn’t go without a hug. I’ve had two previous births and while everyone in this hospital is awesome, I have never been cared for as well as after this one. I truly enjoyed my stay in spite of the pain (c-section followed by hematoma correction) and the fear and trauma of the entire experience (arrived at hospital 10cm and baby a breech- then hematoma follow up after emergency C-section making 2 major surgeries when prior to this, wisdom teeth removal was the only experience I had with any operations). She not only cared for me but also cared how my twins were receiving care and gushed with me over pictures of my new babies. Like all moms, I’m sure I was so sad they had to stay in NICU and Sharika lifted my spirits every time I saw her. I could not possibly thank her enough and will 100% be back to see her and thank her again.
