I refer to Ms. Nicole as my “Nurse Angel.” She exudes love and compassion, and I was blessed to have been in her care. Her professionalism as a nurse was exemplified by her coming to see me shortly after her shift began. She warmly introduced herself, asked how I was feeling, and proceeded to administer my medication. She subsequently disinfected my table, brought me my breakfast, and made my bed without me asking! Before leaving, she asked if there was anything I needed, all with a smile on her lovely face. She checked on me periodically, always asking how I was. When I pressed the call button, she answered right away and came immediately if I needed her. When it appeared that my health had taken a turn for the worse, and I was clearly panicked, Ms. Nicole took the time to speak words of encouragement by reassuring me that I was in the best place and helped me to relax by soothingly rubbing my shoulder as a nurturing mother would. Even though my family was not there with me at that moment, I did not feel alone. I had Ms. Nicole there, who truly sought to comfort me. I felt blessed, encouraged, and genuinely cared for. Ms. Nicole embodies the excellence in nursing that those in her care are fortunate enough to experience.
