Monica White-Williams goes above and beyond to support her nurses and nursing staff. There are countless times where she balances being rigid to support the unit, while being empathetic to support the people that she works with. Almost daily, she stays to ensure the staff has what they need to hand off to the next shift and to ensure everyone is safe (patients and staff). If you ask anyone, they would say that Ms. White-Williams is fearless, resilient, logical, and a quick decision-maker. Ms. White is a head nurse who you want on your team as she coordinates with other treatment team members as well as family members. Working in the psychiatric ED can become mentally overwhelming at times; however, I feel supported and willing to learn with Ms. White by my side, as I know she is always willing and able to do what she asks of others.

Monica White-Williams is an amazing head nurse, a huge asset to our department, and deserves this award and recognition. She is a great mentor for new nurses in the department. Ms. White-Williams's dedication and knowledge of the CPEP are unparalleled. She seems to be a walking encyclopedia of knowledge. Although Mrs. White-Williams is responsible for her own daily tasks, she can often be found assisting other coworkers with their tasks. She also has the ability to communicate effectively with all of her co-workers to stay proactive. It's these qualities that led her to be promoted to head nurse. Mrs. White-Williams's teamwork and exemplary efforts to nurture the staff in the CPEP, especially new grads, are noticeable. Despite the overwhelming amount of work that everyone has to do, Ms. White- Williams consistently finds ways to help her co-workers. It is with great pleasure that I respectfully submit this nomination for her to be recognized as a recipient of the DAISY Award.
