She earned my dad's trust, respect, and love. She never gave up on my dad. She said she would fight as long as he wanted to fight, and when he was done, she would be there for him through that, too.
Amy received 3 DAISY nominations from her patient's family members. The patient was on Amy's unit multiple times.

The first family member wrote: Amy stuck right beside him the whole time, and she became part of our family. She talked him into a lot of stuff to fight for him, and she said she would fight until he wanted to stop. She went above and beyond for him, and my dad said he loved her and wanted her to come home with us. She commutes so far for her patients so everyone should know she's is dedicated to her job.

The second family member wrote: My grandfather has been battling hard through his cancer journey, & Amy was so comforting for my whole family. She loved him like he was one of her own family members. She helped him get stronger & made him feel so comfortable. She also made him feel comfortable enough to say he wanted to go home on hospice. As I am sitting here spending my final days with him, I could never thank her enough as he is still speaking so much of Amy. We love you, Amy, & could never thank you enough.

The third family member wrote: My father was here on multiple occasions, and Amy took care of him multiple times. Each and every day, Amy gave 100 percent to not only my dad but to each and every one of his children. She answered any question we had and explained every detail to us all. She worked tirelessly to make my dad feel like he was the most important patient. She went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable. She sat with us through tears and laughter and never made us feel like we were holding her back from her work. She earned my dad's trust, respect, and love. She never gave up on my dad. She said she would fight as long as he wanted to fight, and when he was done, she would be there for him through that, too. That meant a lot to him and to all of us kids, too. When life is ending for someone you love, you need people like Amy to hold your hand and guide you, and she did that for us all. She will always be our superhero nurse and a member of our family!
