Christine also visited my grandmother every day when she was moved to another floor for closer observation.
I nominate Christine Vazquez for the DAISY Award on behalf of the patient and myself. Beforehand, I would like to apologize for the delay in this commandment. It has been long overdue for about a year, and for that, I apologize again. However, on the other hand, she has made such a positive impact that, to this day, I still remember and cherish her.
Christine is the nurse everyone wishes they could have or should have the honor to get as their nurse. She is caring, empathetic, loving, supportive, observant, consistent with her words, and overall a noble human being and a kind soul. My grandmother had gone in for pneumonia, which had turned into COVID-19, and it did not look like she was going to make it, but Christine gave me hope, hugged me, and bonded with me as she shared with me a bit of her life. She was also the caretaker of her parents, who have passed. May they rest in peace. She was very patient with my grandmother and cared for her very well while having patience with me, answering any questions I had and putting my nerves at ease, to say the least. She paid for my meal more than once because I did not have the money at the time, and she did not accept any money back. Christine also visited my grandmother every day when she was moved to another floor for closer observation. Thankfully, my grandmother made it through and was discharged home, and I will forever be grateful for the care, love, compassion, and everything else I stated at the beginning of this nomination. Thank you, Christine, from the bottom of my grandmother's and my heart for everything you did. May God always bless and protect you and your family.
