Shasta is a great student who is respected and well-liked by everyone who has had the pleasure to interact with her.
Shasta is a great student who is respected and well-liked by everyone who has had the pleasure to interact with her. Here are a couple of things her instructors had to say when nominating her for this award:
  • Shasta demonstrates compassion in her attention to detail while giving care to patients and their family members. In the clinic, she has been thorough in every interaction, indicating a true desire to learn with the intent to heal. Her dedication to learning is evident in the knowledge she has gained. She does not hesitate to spend extra time with the residents in long-term care, even assisting with personal matters. Her competence, professional demeanor, and desire to learn will carry her through her nursing career. Congratulations on joining the nursing field, Shasta! Healthcare is lucky to have you.
  • From the first day in clinical to now watching her prepare to graduate, Shasta has grown as a student and also as a health care professional. She not only shows up on time and is prepared for clinical, but she also leads with grace and compassion when dealing with her patients. It is safe to say that in the clinical setting, we don't always get the assignments we like the most. Shasta, however, has never complained about an assessment; instead has risen to every occasion and has come out the other side, realizing and learning something new. When it comes to her classmates, she is always willing to help when needed and has become quite the teacher herself, having observed her on multiple occasions explaining things to her classmates in a way so they can gain more clarity. She goes above and beyond what is asked and truly leaves no one behind when sharing a new experience and what she got out of it. She is not only a team player but has the qualities of a strong team leader. To watch her grow over the course of this program has brought great joy and she truly is a worthy recipient of this award.
