Jordyn stood out to us because she was very kind and helped my mom with everything that she needed. As an RN, I appreciated her caring, respect, and positive attitude. She answered all of our questions, and when she was unsure, she found the person who could answer our questions. I hope we get her the next two days that Mom spends here.

Jordyn has only been on her own as a new nurse for a couple of months, and she is already making a huge impact on our patients. Aside from this nomination, I had a family inquiry recently about a way to recognize Jordyn for her exceptional compassion while caring for their dying family member. Jordyn cared for the patient all weekend prior to transferring to the hospice house, and the family really struggled with the idea that transferring meant they wouldn’t get Jordyn as his nurse anymore. They thanked her profusely, everyone hugged her and shared their gratitude, and they even asked her to participate in a family prayer after she gave bedside report, before returning to the unit. The family felt good about all of his care throughout his cancer journey, but Jordyn stood out so much that they sent her a large bouquet of flowers for her the following week. It’s crazy to think Jordyn is just getting started in her nursing career, as she seems to be an absolute natural and is such a blessing to our patients and team.
