Oakley helped ease both my husband’s physical and emotional pain with the utmost care and understanding.
Oakley was my husband’s nurse for a week in September. At this time, we found out that there was nothing left to to be done to treat his cancer. It was an incredibly scary and emotional time for both of us. Oakley helped ease both my husband’s physical and emotional pain with the utmost care and understanding. He went above and beyond by also making sure that I was taken care of and checking on my state of mind as well. One evening, he even left the hospital after his shift and came back as a visitor, checking in at the front just to make sure that we were doing ok. A couple of months later, when my husband was in the hospital again, he was not our nurse, but he still took the time to wheel my husband down at check out and sat and talked to him while we waited for his prescription. I cannot imagine a more caring nurse, and we were truly blessed to have him in our lives.

In October, I wound up with a raging gut infection. Oakley was my night nurse for at least four nights. We clicked at once. The following adjectives/nouns describe Oakley: efficient, helpful, kind, caring, genuine, prompt, understanding. I was on the same unit again last week for four days with C. diff. Oakley was my nurse the first night. He spent half an hour with me just getting caught up on my chemo. Oakley is top-notch. I highly recommend him for this award.
