The Professional Practice Team is a hardworking group that works behind the scenes to empower and recognize team members across the System. They successfully saw five campuses through their Magnet document submission, site visit, and 5th designation. Their job started as a singular role and has quickly grown with many roles and responsibilities being added to their job. Each time a new responsibility is given to them, they step up to the challenge and are successful in reaching the goals set before them. The Shared Governance teams have grown under their support and have biannual retreats that bring great value to the attendees. The ExCEL program has grown and been enhanced with great satisfaction from team members. The team listened to feedback from participants and worked diligently to provide a virtual platform in FY24. The team attends the Magnet conference every year, bringing back new ideas for engagement and recognition and working hard to implement any positive changes within the organization. One example of this is the career mobility program, with the goal in mind to increase retention and provide information to team members who would otherwise not know about the opportunities available to them. Their recognition of caregivers, nurses, and providers during the Spirit of Magnet awards is meaningful at each campus and provides the opportunity to recognize physicians where there is no other platform within the organization to be recognized. This team is the 'Swiss Army knife' of the organization, being able to help in any way they are asked and fit the needs of the health system. They deserve to be recognized for all the value they bring to Baptist Health.

The Magnet and Professional Practice team is a group of top-performing nursing and support professionals who work behind the scenes to elevate the professional practice and recognize nursing excellence, collaboration, and compassionate caring at Baptist Health. Their exemplary leadership and dedication to nursing excellence have had an immeasurable impact on our healthcare system. With the leadership of Dr. Maureen Williams, their innovative strategies and collaborative approach have not only stabilized our workforce but also fostered a supportive and enriching environment for our nursing staff and have been instrumental in improving nurse retention. This amazing team is responsible for navigating our rigorous journeys through what is now our 5th Magnet Survey. This is no small feat! They are always looking for the opportunity to recognize and reward our team members for clinical excellence, professional collaboration, compassionate caring and exceptional service; whether it is through documentation of a Magnet Story for 6 facilities, recognizing team members for Spirit of Magnet, DAISY, and LOTUS, updating policies, guiding us through the ExCEL program, research and PI processes, this team does it all and makes it look easy! It is NOT. It requires diligence, hard work, great organization, teamwork, collaboration, innovation, attention to detail, and above all, compassionate caring for patients, nurses, and nursing practice!
