I’ve never had a nurse make me feel like I seriously mattered and like she was absolutely going to do everything in her power to help me feel better and get better.
I’ve been going through a very different past two months, in and out of the hospital for days, even weeks at a time, because of severe Crohn’s disease and severe anemia requiring multiple life-saving blood transfusions. It’s been so very easy to spot when you have an extraordinary nurse because Emily was that and beyond. I’ve struggled with some of the most difficult and embarrassing issues a patient can experience, and Emily always went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and help in the most discreet and respectful ways. She made me feel super important and was always there when or before I even needed her. I don’t know how she knew, but it was like she just knew I needed help in the bathroom or at the bedside. I’ve never had a nurse make me feel like I seriously mattered and like she was absolutely going to do everything in her power to help me feel better and get better. Nurses like her are just amazing, and sometimes, they are few and far between. She was extraordinary! She made me feel like I was her friend and family, and she was always so professional and knowledgeable. If she didn’t have an answer, she would be quick to find one for me. I’m so thankful she was my nurse, and she truly really turned my whole view around when I struggled to be admitted because I was scared of who was going to care for me. Emily is amazing, and this world would be 10000% in excellent hands under her care. I just know my turnaround was in part because of her above-and-beyond care and professional excellence. She’s amazing and the absolute best nurse I have met! Thank you, Memorial Regional, for hiring her.
