Maura was very professional at all times while giving caring and helpful care. She kept us all well-informed and made great suggestions on how to continue to care at home. She answered all questions and engaged with my husband and all family members in a kind and friendly manner. She was amazing!!!

My 78-year-old mother was admitted emergently to the CICU with intermittent complete heart block. My mother was terrified that she had been admitted to an ICU. Maura was the admitting nurse and my mother’s day nurse throughout her stay. Maura immediately detected my mother’s fear and put her at ease in a way that not even I could. She somehow was able to elicit a smile. Her nursing was textbook. She always updated the whiteboard, kept us informed about the status of tests and procedures, and was in the room multiple times every hour. She not only checked to see if mom ad any needs, but also consistently quired my sister and I about how we are doing and whether we needed anything. Maura accompanied my mother to her CT and post-procedural x-ray. She successfully mitigated my mother’s anxiety. She advocated for Mom when she needed stronger pain medication and when there was a delay with her PT evaluation. The most poignant thing was that Maura gave my mother a hug at her discharge.
