We just wanted to take a moment to recognize Jill White for her compassionate nursing care of a patient and family this weekend. The patient is medically very complex and is emotionally distressing. This patient is a young girl who will be donating her organs to help other families and patients in need. The patient's mother is heavily involved in the case, and Jill has built a strong rapport and trusting relationship with her. She went out of her way to get the mother the rest she needed by providing pillows and blankets; Jillian provided personal care items to allow the mother to stay at the bedside as long as she wanted; and Jillian provided personal hygiene items to provide the mother with the ability to take a shower. It did not go unnoticed by the mother in this very sensitive situation. This is such a sensitive case, and it is really fulfilling to see our staff go above and beyond out of the goodness of their hearts. Jill is on a long stretch of days, working 4 12-hour shifts in a row and the patient's mother feels a bond with her. Jillian will be staying late tonight to remain a constant support system while the patient goes to the operating room. She has made the best of this situation, and I want to let you know how impressive she is!
