I have always enjoyed working with Brooke. She is both an amazing nurse and an amazing human. This weekend, she was truly at her best, and her thoughts and actions moved me deeply.

We had an organ donor patient in the PICU, and his family desperately wanted him to be at his flag-raising because he was passionate about collecting flags. Brooke made this happen. She collaborated with the entire team, including myself, to get him outside to feel the sunshine on his face and hear his favorite song as the flag was raised. I don't think there was a dry eye among us. This was very healing for his family and a final memory that they will cherish forever. I've never witnessed anything like this before, and it truly showed me that Brooke has the heart and the passion to make beautiful moments like this happen each and every day. She also walked alongside this family for three days and was truly a source of compassion, strength, and hope to this grieving family. They had so many wonderful things to say about her and it was clear to me that they trusted her with their son's care implicitly. I am honored to work beside Brooke every weekend and am happy to call her both colleague and friend.
