Elizabeth Erdmann is a new Nurse to the VA who brings a wealth of experience. She has been in a float role and while working with her, she is always eager to help and go above and beyond for the patient. She had a difficult patient who was resistant to go to the ER, even though his symptoms were concerning and warranted further evaluation. She spent a lengthy amount of time educating the patient and acknowledging his concerns while also understanding he needed to be seen. Liz was able to talk the patient into being seen and evaluated.

On that same day we had another walk-in patient who was in severe pain. She did a thorough assessment and updated me on his care. I didn’t have an immediate opening, so she helped coordinate the suggested imaging I ordered and made the patient comfortable in the exam room. That patient expressed his gratitude for her patience and kindness and wanted her to be recognized. I had a follow up with that patient and he again expressed how Liz was so understanding and really went out of her way to make sure he was comfortable. Liz is a Nurse who doesn’t have to be asked to do something - she just does it. Her kindness, knowledge, and empathy bring such a bright light to our patients. We are truly blessed and lucky to have her here at VA.
