She made me feel calm and in control with her caring touch. It settled me. As we all know, mind, body, and spiritual health work together in healing. She sensed I needed a little extra spoiling, and her gift of that extra grace made me know everything was going to be OK.
When I was wheeled back into my room after having my pacemaker installed, she was already in the room making things comfortable for me. She brought me something to drink with ice in it and went and got me something to eat. I had not eaten or drank in several hours. She was aware of this and took care of it immediately. It was very much welcome and appreciated. She carefully and clearly explained to me all my follow-up procedures being very patient with my hearing problems. Her knowledge along with her cheery smile and attitude, made me feel confident that I was receiving the best possible care

My husband, received a heart ablation on Friday. This was on the Friday starting the Memorial Day weekend. We checked in at noon and were quickly admitted. As these things go, the doctor was delayed so the procedure was late being started. Once out of surgery, she took over his post op care. Part of his recovery required that he lay flat on his back for 2 hours. During this time, she was attentive and funny but firm about keeping him still. Her sense of humor was such a blessing during that long evening because the next came a tornado warning requiring him to be quickly moved to a windowless room. She, along with the two other nurses on duty, had us safely tucked away in a new location in no time. Again, they all helped to keep the mood light while efficiently doing their job in an emergency. Time and the tornado passed. A chest X-ray was taken as a precaution before he could be released. As we waited for those results, this nurse had him up, dressed and moving around. She gave us a very organized care package to take home in which she highlighted and tabbed important information. This was so helpful once we were at home. She was able to answer all of our questions and provided us with important information about what to expect during his recovery. We were ready to go at about 8:30. We continued to wait on the X-ray results to be released until almost 10 pm. Once it was apparent that the x-ray was not going to be ready timely, she was able to reach our doctor so that we could be released without waiting any longer on the radiologist. Even after such a long day and I'm sure ready to start her Memorial Day holiday, she kept her sense of humor. As she told me where to drive to pick him up, she laughed and said that if I wanted to come around the corner fast on two wheels she wouldn't judge! Ha! Professional, organized, caring and funny. I wish all nurses could be her!

She was in my room immediately when I arrived. She saw that I was nervous and rather scared. She was very calm and soothing. She helped me change into the gown and assured me that all would go well. She basically “held my hand” and reassured my 78-year-old husband. She was there throughout the prep and waited until I returned. She is an excellent nurse, and I believe she deserves recognition. She talked me through each step of prep and after the procedure using words that I could understand. She was in and out of my room every 10 minutes, deflating the air wristband. In short, she is a great asset to your hospital and deserves an award for all that she does. She is especially good with elderly patients.

Skillful. Compassionate. Caring. All describe this nurse to a “T.” Sweet. Sensitive. Loving. All describe her to a “T.” Hardworking. Hustler. Happy. All describe her to a “T.” Put the three “T”s together, and you have: tender, terrific, and tenacious. Because of the overbooked capacity and scarcity of available rooms. We were placed in a procedure room on the other side of the building from the cath ward. Do you think that stopped this nurse from giving us excellent care? She made that long trek every 15 minutes for hours and always with a smile. It is easy to spot those who are here for a “job” and those who are here to serve and minister to those under their care. She is surely the hands, feet, and heart of Jesus. Her body contains a servant's heart. It shows as clearly as her Baptist hospital name tag. If her middle name isn’t Grace, it should be. This young girl calmed this old gal's nerves with her professional and personable performance. I am a two-time cancer survivor, suffer from fibromyalgia, and had both knees replaced and in line for thyroid surgery. I didn’t need to add heart issues to the list. She made me feel calm and in control with her caring touch. It settled me. As we all know, mind, body, and spiritual health work together in healing. It turned out OK and I am thankful and grateful for that but if we ever have to go back for anything cardio, I will be asking for my favorite nurse nightingale just like we asked for our favorite server at the Cracker Barrel. Baptist needs to be noted for the employing. She stands head and shoulders tall, even in that illustrious group. As a Southern Baptist, it makes me proud of the hospital's name. The one in Oxford for sure.

I told her I would like some coffee. It wasn’t too long before she was bringing me a nice big cup. She made my day!
