She would pay attention to all the little details like cleaning up his face if he had adhesive on it or making sure he had a clean outfit if it got a little dirty.
Our story, although not the typical pregnancy story, brought us the most precious little boy! We knew our little guy was going to have a NICU stay starting at our 20-week ultrasound. My husband and I mentally prepared as much as we could, but actually living the reality of being in the NICU was a different story! We first met our amazing primary nurse, Jada Baker, on night shift. Nights were a tough time for us as parents because we had to place full trust in the nursing staff while we were sleeping. Jada, however, took care of our son like he was one of her own! She would pay attention to all the little details like cleaning up his face if he had adhesive on it or making sure he had a clean outfit if it got a little dirty. Over the course of our 4-month NICU stay Jada started off as just a friendly Nurse, and then truly became family. She would not be afraid to fight for what was best for our son. She listened to our concerns and would relay the message to the people that needed to hear it. Jada always came to work with a smile and her personality makes her so approachable and easy to get along with. She made our NICU room feel like a home away from home with decorations and pictures of our son posted all over the room. As we were nearing the end of our NICU stay, it was such a "bittersweet" moment as Jada would say. She was our "home" and comfort throughout these tough 4 months. Jada has seen all of the emotions that we experienced being in the NICU. She was here to see all of the milestones that our son would cross, as we weren't able to experience these things with family because of the visitor restrictions. She enjoyed all of these moments just as much as we did! Jada, thank you for all of your amazing care, we will never forget the impact you made on us and our son!
