I’ve witnessed Malori being an advocate for our patients and their families. She goes to great lengths to get patients the much-needed care and treatment.
An extraordinary nurse is not an adequate description to describe Malori Perryman. When you ask a nurse, “Why do you want to become an oncology nurse?” You hear all sorts of prepared answers that may not truly reflect reality. But when having the privilege to observe Malori as a co-worker, I can candidly say that it’s a blessing when actions speak louder than words. In many instances, I’ve witnessed Malori being an advocate for our patients and their families. She goes to great lengths to get patients the much-needed care and treatment. She is one of the sweetest, patient, kind, caring, and compassionate nurses who exceeds expectations while going above and beyond to provide safe, competent care. She selflessly supports and helps her teammates without hesitation or having to be asked. In one particular incident, a patient was having a severe chemo reaction during his first treatment and required more help than one nurse could do alone, Malori arrived quickly to assist. Despite having six patients of her own and being close to shift change, Malori stayed at the bedside, helping us for a great length of time until the patient became stable. The chemo reaction lasted approximately 30 minutes and monitoring was required afterwards. However, at the time, Malori was present and focused on the patient, which was her only priority. So many scenarios I have observed with Malori providing outstanding care. Thank you, Malori, for your loyalty and dedication to your co-workers, patients, and their families.
