Torri is one of the greatest leaders. She may be a ANM but that does not slow her down. She will give a bath, she will admit a patient, she will feed a patient. She makes sure we are always good. She is loving caring funny compassion, she is D, ALL OF THE ABOVE!! Sara, Kristen,John, Hailey A, they are all so amazing they will help us CNAs, they understand us and know that we have so much to do as well. They see us, which many don’t. They don’t look at themselves as being better than others. They take the time to teach those who want to learn more, which is so BEAUTIFUL!!! Most of us love nursing and want to learn more. They take time out and call us just to teach us and have so much patience with us. They will take vitals and take patients to the bathroom. They are truly one of a kind.

Clay has something I have not seen before. I have been a CNA for over 16 years. It has a center going right down the middle. It’s a heart. And we seem to all be connected to that heart as we walk through those doors. You can easily tell those who are. Our values and goals are all the same. Our patients and their families get the best care. When they leave, they leave with full knowledge of everything. We all want to remain standing and not fall off. Share the knowledge we learn with one another.

I had a patient who was from the Philippines; I noticed she had not been eating. Two days went by, and she had not eaten anything really. I asked her daughter is it maybe our food she does not like. Is it because she grew up eating food from her culture? She said yes and apologized. I said oh no, please don’t apologize. But please bring her food in and we can heat it up for her. She is not used to our food nor does she like it. So, of course, she does not want to eat it. Plus, eating something that her body is not used to could be causing her stomach to be hurting a bit more. So please bring her food. She and her mother was so thankful so happy. She ate each meal and was able to get stronger. So by just noticing she was from somewhere else and thinking outside the box. I was able to help get her eating so she could get her stronger.

Kristen is so helpful she is amazing teacher nurse and co-worker. She is an amazing leader. She sees us, she takes time out to work with us, and when we don’t understand, she will go over it 2 times or 20. It doesn’t matter. She doesn’t get frustrated or upset. She LISTENS to the patients as well as us when we speak about what we see or think of things about the patients. She will jump in and help without a second thought—the same with Emilie and Kayla.

Kristen and I had a patient and they had very soft bowels and was going a lot. It was close to a bed change every two hours. I had 11 patients and it was heavy load. I needed to go clean the pt again. She told me, “I got this. You go breathe for a few. You are making me exhausted. I know you have been in there many times. So I got you, girl. My hands are no better than yours and I can clean the patient as well." I told her I would help because I knew she was busy. She wouldn’t have it. She is truly an amazing asset to the 3rd Floor to Baptist Clay she is an amazing nurse. We truly are blessed with so many amazing Nurses, but these ladies are ROCKSTARS!
