Instead of Alyssa getting annoyed by my cries for help and yelling for an epidural, she guided me under her wings and treated me as if she were the most caring mother in the world.
Alyssa was an absolute angel as I was in labor with my daughter. I was in an extraordinary amount of pain when I met Alyssa. I could barely speak, and I was very irritable. All I could think about was how quickly I needed an epidural. Instead of Alyssa getting annoyed by my cries for help and yelling for an epidural, she guided me under her wings and treated me as if she were the most caring mother in the world. She held me through most of my contractions, which were absolutely brutal!! She talked so gently and so calmly while I cried out in pain. She made sure to be quick and did anything she could to help me. She hugged me tight during my epidural and helped me do breathing exercises. When the epidural finally started kicking in, and I was more relaxed and calm, she brought me warm blankets and kept making sure I was the most comfortably positioned in the bed possible. She was amazing at doing practice pushes with me and made me feel comfortable as well as confident in my ability to birth my baby. Even though she wore a face mask, you could tell when she was smiling through her eyes, and that alone could light a thousand rooms. I want to thank her for being my angel during a scary and hard time. I have thought of her every day since I’ve delivered my baby.
