I can’t put into words how the way she greeted me made me feel, it was like an angel sent by God telling me you are not alone, I got this, I am here.
I met Sarah at Goshen Hospital when my best friend and roommate had to be intubated at the ICU. What a difficult situation. I am a flight attendant and was in Brazil when she was intubated. My friend has no family, and I am her contact (all authorization for procedures had to be given by me, on the other side of America).  From the phone calls letting me know what was happening to the first time I first met her, I was impressed with her professionalism and kindness. I came straight from the airport to Goshen Hospital and when I walked into the ICU, this beautiful creature walked towards me and said, “Are you Ana?” which I responded “yes.” She opened a huge smile and said, “we were waiting for you.” I can’t put into words how the way she greeted me made me feel, it was like an angel sent by God telling me you are not alone, I got this, I am here. So as days went by, I was even more impressed with her dedication, patience in answering all my questions, professionalism, and knowledge but most of all her KINDNESS! It takes a very special type of human to do the work in the ICU floor. It is a time of anguish, anxiety not knowing how the outcome will be. She is a special person, not only she provides care to the patient, she also provides care to the family. I am immensely grateful she was there. Goshen Hospital is extremely lucky to have a professional like her. I just wanted to thank her for all she did and also acknowledge the difference she makes in the lives she touches.
