Tien is incredibly organized and follows our patients all so closely that she will pick up a call from any one of them and talk to them like she just saw them yesterday. They are never a stranger to her, and they feel that.
Tien has been with the breast surgery clinic since 2015. Since starting with us all those years ago, we have gone from a four-nurse staff to her being our sole RN. It's easy for me to say without a doubt she has been a pillar of support, compassion, and excellence for not only our patients but our staff as well. We have endured many changes here in this clinic over the years, with the loss of beloved providers and our long-term manager to being without a designated manager for months and not knowing when we would ever have one, being only the start.

Tien has been able to hold our patients' care as a priority by offering them the most professional and compassionate care, making sure she has done everything in her power to ease their journey through breast cancer surgery and transition them to their next step in treatment. She is incredibly organized and follows them all so closely that she will pick up a call from any one of them and talk to them like she just saw them yesterday. They are never a stranger to her, and they feel that. Our patients have every confidence in knowing they can reach out to Tien at any time during the day with questions or concerns and Tien will be there to answer. She is always the first clinical contact a newly diagnosed patient hears as she calls to introduce herself and answer any questions about their upcoming consultation and quell any anxiety they may be feeling. They know exactly what to expect when they come and know exactly what their plan is and how they are going to manage it when they leave, because she takes all the time, they need to be sure their questions are answered.

She has been so much more than a charge nurse here to us in the clinic. Without the credit on paper, she has taken on a role of leadership. Treating her colleagues with respect, support, and compassion. Helping each of us with struggles, giving daily kudos and recognition to people for a job well done. Using teaching moments that come up as examples we all can learn from by being inclusive, communicative, and transparent. A true leader in her own right. She is the right hand to all of our providers, a fountain of information, and a hub for anyone in the Cancer Institute. She is greatly appreciated here and throughout the system! She is a true DAISY Nurse and we hope she knows that she is the brightest flower in our bouquet!! Thank you for being so good to our patients and your teammates!!! TRUE!
