When I first got to IC5, I was really anxious and did not want to open up to any of the nurses or social workers. That changed when I met Teresa. She helped me feel more comfortable, from adjusting my NG tube when needed to wrapping my hand when I felt the urge to hurt myself. Teresa helped me with not only medical stuff but regular things like always checking in on me, even when I wasn’t her patient. We often would walk and just talk about things on our minds, and she was always there to listen and provide feedback. She was very open and helpful whenever I needed someone to talk to, even though she was just a nurse. She made me feel safe and like someone cared. She is sweet and honest. I really believe that she is not only a great nurse but also an amazing person.
