Wendy Serpa and Kerrie Carey have served in the primary care office diligently for over 20 years, serving a diverse population with various complicated needs. They both served the community during Covid, an exceptionally tough time for all, and they did a wonderful job of navigating a difficult time. They serve a community with scarce resources and lower socioeconomic status, where there are many struggles with access to healthcare, medication, and other medical services. They are diligent in trying to educate the people of their community. They serve their patients and community with understanding and compassion. When I had Covid, they called to check in on me and make sure I was doing okay. Carrie and Wendy both never forget who I am, what I’m up to, and what I was in the clinic for. It’s those personal touches that make you feel cared about and valued, valued not just as a patient but as a person. Working in healthcare is a demanding job, and they have stood strong for the duration! They have a good attitude, even when it’s tough. I've seen them show compassion to others as I was a manager for years, brought patients to this office, and seen them show this care and compassion for others and myself.
