Kyra was the nurse for our mom in the SICU for two days. I cannot possibly express how wonderful she was to not just Mom, but every single person who walked into Mom's room. Kyra called each of us by name and spoke to us like we were old friends. She made sure our mom was as comfortable as she could possibly be up until the very last minute. Kyra mentioned that at some point, her job goes from caring for the patient to caring for the family, and she did both of those things and so much more flawlessly. She made sure that she scrubbed into the OR for Mom's organ donation and was with her at the very end, even going as far as to personally tell us when Mom passed. We will never forget the kindness, love, and compassion she shared with us all.
