I unfortunately had to bring my son in for his first ever ER visit (hopefully his last). The nurse who took care of him, Nicole, was truly amazing. She was calm, collected, and caring. She was so good with my son and very patient. Once she realized we’d be there awhile, she immediately brought him fun things to play with to keep him occupied during our 6-hour stay for observation (bubbles, crayons, and a toy dinosaur). This incident was a first for me and very scary. Being a nurse myself, I am not overly comfortable with taking care of pediatric patients, and she handled it with such ease. I truly can’t thank her enough for the care we received during such an uncomfortable and scary time. Her calm demeanor helped keep me calm. I felt so guilty and embarrassed about the situation that led to us having to require the ER visit in the first place, however, her non-judgmental and kind words made me feel a tiny bit better about that too. I hope she gets the opportunity to read this and realize how her care turned such an incredible awful day into a slightly more manageable one. Thanks again.
