I would like to nominate Molly Paris, RN to receive an 'entire bouquet' of DAISY Awards. She truly exemplifies the true definition of an outstanding, extraordinary, prudent, and vigilant caregiver. Without hesitation and without having to be asked, she has seen other nurses and me involved in situations where one of our patients had a change in status, or the patient may have just needed some kind words spoken or some therapeutic communication. Molly acts very quickly and in such a very sincere and caring way to help assist in any way that she can. Molly aids in making sure other patients' (that she's not even assigned to) needs are met. She does not have the view that this is not my patient but proves by demonstration that she understands that we, as caregivers/nurses, are responsible for caring for all patients on the unit. Molly does not complain and when you'd think she should be tired from helping keep the unit afloat in tedious situations, you look up and who do you see? Molly, showing right back up asking if there is anything else she can do to help. If you tell her no, she will find something to do to help anyway. This shows her true character and true heart towards her God-given calling, to the patients, and her co-workers. If anyone wants to witness a compassionate, caring, and unselfish nurse, all they have to do is watch this nurse in action. They will learn so much without having to ask one question. Her actions and the work she does speak for her! We need more nurses like Molly in the world. Ones that make a true difference in the lives of others. She is greatly appreciated and is a blessing to our unit!
