Taylor is an extraordinary nurse in the MSICU. She consistently goes above and beyond for her patients as well as their families. She demonstrates compassion and empathy in every interaction, making patients and their families feel heard and cared for. Her dedication to providing high-quality care is truly inspiring, and her positive attitude brightens the day of everyone around her. Taylor's commitment to excellence and her unwavering support for her colleagues make her a great candidate for this prestigious award.

Taylor recently cared for a young patient in the Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Throughout his complicated stay, she formed a relationship with the patient's spouse and family. Even when she had a different patient assignment, she would make sure to stop in and check on the patient and their spouse. Unfortunately, this patient passed away after fighting for over two weeks. After they passed, Taylor stayed multiple hours after her shift was over, comforting and supporting this patient's family through this incredibly difficult time. She made arrangements to have food and drinks brought up for the family to ensure that they had something to eat and drink, as it is easy to forget to take care of yourself in these difficult times. She also tracked down an ink pad and made copies of the patient’s fingerprints for all of his family members to have. This is something that the family will forever be able to cherish. Taylor also got a card and had other team members who had the pleasure of caring for this patient sign the card and give it to the family. I believe that Taylor's comforting presence and compassionate act of listening and offering a shoulder helped to ease some of the pain and sadness of losing this family’s loved one. Taylor truly goes above and beyond for all her patients!
