Hayley is deserving of a DAISY Award because of the outstanding care she provides to the patients she serves. For many years, I suffered from chronic kidney stones and was consistently receiving care at Tanner to treat this condition. From age 18 to 26, I had to undergo 20+ surgical procedures for kidney stones, most of which were performed at the Bremen location. I was a scared, young college kid experiencing ongoing medical issues while living in a city away from my family, since I was there attending college and graduate school at UWG. Having to go through all of the ongoing appointments, surgeries, follow-ups, and just dealing with this condition in general while trying to make it through college was such a trying experience. When I would go to Tanner for my scheduled procedures, I was always met by Hayley, who was the sweetest nurse who always treated me with such compassion and kindness. Hayley always remembered me, even if it had been months, and I truly felt her empathizing with me and my situation when she would see me return for another similar procedure - the feeling of anxiety and fear would disappear when I knew that Hayley was involved in my care team. There was a time when Hayley was not directly involved in my care, but she still saw my name on the schedule and went out of her way to come say hello, which showed her dedication and kindness to patients. There was even a time when my sister brought me in, and she had my niece with her, and Hayley said to my niece, “I’m your auntie, Hayley!” - she truly treated me as if I was family, and this is something that I have been so grateful to have while going through such a difficult time. Hayley is truly a light to the Tanner team, and patients who have had the opportunity to have her care for them are beyond lucky. Thank you, Hayley!
