Cheyanne Cochran received several nominations, and I will summarize what was said about her. Some of the words used to describe this nurse are outstanding, incomparable, thoughtful, extraordinary, exemplary, attentive, patient, reassuring, nurturing, and positive attitude.
One patient wrote that she made a measurable positive impact, including an emotional aspect of healing. The patient said there was a difference in the energy of people taking care of her, and this nurse made such a difference in their mental outlook on things based in part on just her personality. She took time to explain, find answers to the many questions, and advocate on my behalf. She went out of her way to show me in MyChart where I could access my notes/reports, so I had a better sense of what was going on with my healthcare plan that I wasn’t able to absorb from the quick doctor drop-in updates, which helped me immensely on my journey.
Another family member shared that her 94-year-old mother was transitioning to hospice, and she was exemplary in the care for their mother and how attentive and patient she was during a very difficult time.
Another patient wrote that her care went above and beyond her regular duties, which also extended to my family. Inova Loudoun is extremely lucky to have her as a staff member.
