In every single aspect of their care, Janet went above and beyond.
The compassion, love, and care that Janet gave our twin daughters in the NICU was unparalleled. Our daughters were born at 32 weeks, just over 4 pounds each, with multiple tubes. She became one of the girl's “primary nurses,” so every shift she worked, she had our girls. After their first day in the hospital, Janet went out that same evening on her own accord and bought the girls tiny handkerchiefs that could be used in lieu of a swaddle since they were under the warmer for temperature regulation.
The babies were also on supplemental pressure support for ventilation, and because they were doing so well, Janet advocated for them to have trials on room air, and I believe they transitioned to room air so quickly because of her diligence. She called us with updates and scheduled their feedings so we could be present and they learned to nurse quickly with her support. In every single aspect of their care, Janet went above and beyond. She cared for our daughters truly as if they were her own.
