Sherry was my day nurse and went above and beyond on my last day being in the hospital. I was admitted from Monday night until Thursday evening for cellulitis, and sepsis was starting to set in. All the nurses I had were amazing, but especially one. She was the one that I felt comfortable telling; she listened to me and made sure that my voice was heard. She validated my feelings and reassured me that the situation would be dealt with. She's the type of nurse that I was able to be comfortable with, almost like if she was a friend.

And to me, I absolutely love nurses like that, the ones that can be laid back and not so professional and tense all the time. I was in a vulnerable state, and she was very nice and fun to be around. She didn't make me feel like I was just "another number" or just "another patient". Her communication skills were phenomenal.

She waited for my fiancé to get off work so he could be there so she could go over the discharge papers with us both, as I wished. Before she even laid a finger on my body, she asked for consent, which I absolutely adored. My other nurses didn't do that, which I didn't mind because I was there for a reason; they were there to do their job, and I needed the help, but I just absolutely loved that about Sherry.
