Terry Trail helped a patient who was scheduled for surgery at the surgery center next door. However, the patient was on Eliquis, and the surgeon felt the safest place to have his operation was at ILH. This nurse helped push through insurance approvals by working with registration so the patient could have their surgery on time. She proceeded to keep the family informed and comfortable throughout the afternoon and evening. At the end of the day, this nurse delayed going home to help educate the family on the surgery, called into the OR for a real-time update, and finally checked on when the family could see the patient in recovery before she left for the day. Terry goes the extra mile for her patients and deserves recognition.
