My pregnancy was labeled as "high-risk" due to complications with my health, including gestational hypertension and gestational diabetes. I was at an appointment for routine testing and began to get sick mid-appointment. After the appointment, I went home to try to feel better but was still sick into the next day. Danielle Chouinard thankfully called me. She did not have to do this; I was not scheduled for an appointment until the following week, but she called to check and see how I was doing. After hearing about my condition, she spoke to the physician, who encouraged me to head to the hospital. I was admitted on a Friday evening and immediately began the induction process. My baby girl was born early but healthy, and my health began to improve in the days to come. While in the hospital, my blood pressure had gotten as high as 198/104. I do believe my life and my baby's life were spared, or at the very least, my body's function was spared, thanks to her phone call.
