he always went to her because anytime she gave him any advice, he would always try it, and it worked. Tammy was always very open and honest with him.
My father was a patient receiving chemo infusions at LV Carbon Campus. While all the nurses there were great, one stood out among the rest -Tammy Ewer. Chemo alone is a scary undertaking, but with Tammy, the process could not have been better. She made my dad feel like he was the most important person. She went through the process step-by-step on what to expect and never sugar-coated anything. As the months went on (he was there at least two times per week), my dad began to count on Tammy. If he had any medical questions, he always went to her because anytime she gave him any advice, he would always try it, and it worked. Tammy was always very open and honest with him. Her energy lit up the room. My dad would look forward to going to chemo every time in hopes that she would be there. I always said that my dad was probably the only person who ever looked forward to going for Chemo and would laugh and have fun while there, and this was all thanks to Tammy. My dad died in April, and you would not believe how touched I was when Tammy showed up at his funeral. There are not enough words to express the impact Tammy made on our lives during such a tough time. If my dad were alive and knew of this program, he would say without hesitation that Tammy deserves this award, at the very least. Therefore, on behalf of my dad, I would like to nominate Tammy Ewer for this award - she deserves it.
