Grayson Rogers was a phenomenal nurse. She answered all of my questions, and if she didn’t know an answer she would find one. Anytime I needed something or my husband, she was there. He had Covid on top of the reason he was in the hospital to begin with. From the first day I met Grayson, she remembered what I liked each time she came in. After the first day, each time she came in and checked on my husband she would bring me the food/drinks. She remembered what I liked from the day before. Grayson is truly such a thoughtful and kind nurse. My husband is nonverbal so I wanted to speak on his behalf and mine. Not only did she take great care of my husband and explain everything she was doing, but also thought of me as his caregiver. And for that she deserves this award. Grayson not only showed my husband, the patient, compassion, but she included me as well. She went above and beyond by explaining what all the medications were to me by printing out explanations. You could tell she cared and wanted to include me as his wife / caregiver. Grayson spoke to my husband in a way no one else had. She would make sure he was looking at her before she explained what she was doing. When she would turn him, she would even talk to him through it about how well he was doing because it was painful.

As a wife caring for my husband, Grayson was the one nurse I could count on. When she would introduce me to the night people, she would always say whether she’d be back or not. She always answered my questions and found an answer if she didn’t know. The way that Grayson cared for not only my husband but me as well - her way of communicating with my husband was beyond me. She even wrote out letters on paper to see if he could point to them to spell out a word. Even though I know she was busy she still took her time every time she was in the room. She even took time to clean surfaces and organized the room. I can absolutely say that Grayson has a love for nursing. She cared for me as if I were her patient too. She put a smile on my face every time she walked into the room and let me be a part of the care she was giving. If my husband could understand and speak of her he would. I know my husband trusted her care without a doubt. Grayson is absolutely selfless. She gave my husband and me the most selfless most amazing care. I want to give this award for her true meaningful compassion and selflessness.
