There are countless stories I’ve encountered working side-by-side with Danuta, and they have left me in awe at what an outstanding nurse and human being she is.
Danuta has shown up for people time and time again, showing her heart, her passion, her intelligence, and outstanding capabilities. There are countless stories I’ve encountered working side-by-side with Danuta, and they have left me in awe at what an outstanding nurse and human being she is. I’ve witnessed her care for the most difficult behavioral patients with compassion, patience, and rigor in their healthcare treatment- showing up for patients almost as if they were her own family.
I’ve witnessed her embrace family members in their most difficult moments when they cry, and she has provided support, a shoulder to cry on, and the most beautiful words of encouragement to continue on the right path. She has embraced newcomers and new grads onto the unit with enthusiasm and alliance. She has helped fellow nurses on the unit by doing favors and great deeds like buying food and boosting morale. Danuta is a day shift nurse, and she has picked up night shift hours to help with the low staffing issues.
Danuta has had critical care patients, and nurses help them to stay healthy by making the right calls (e.g., RRT codes) and working swiftly. She has shown up for all of us as the best version of herself every single time. Danuta is a leader, a friend, a counselor, a teacher, a colleague, a miracle worker, and a damn fine nurse. I hope she knows how much we love her and recognize the great work she delivers every single day! We really appreciate her, and for her, the 8th floor is an amazing unit in which to work.
We love you, Danuta! Thank you so much for being who you are and everything you do! We love you! Go, Danuta!
