My 10 year old son has been inpatient for just under two months and of all of the amazing nurses that have been a part of his care team, Jimmy has stood out above the rest for his level of care, attention and kindness. Every week, M looked forward to the three days that Jimmy is working and he has measured his progress in getting to have Jimmy as his nurse again. My son describes Jimmy as the "most interactive" of the nurses, always interested in how he is doing and what he is thinking about and wanting to do outside of the hospital setting. And Jimmy was always the best at sneaking into the room to change M's meds and get blood pressure in the middle of the night without waking M up. M didn't like it when Mom or I weren't with him at the hospital, but M somehow was happy to give me a bit of time away whenever Jimmy was here. On his last night working before our discharge, M and Jimmy took a walk around the hospital and got to look out over the city from the 24th floor of Legacy Tower while I was out for a few hours. M couldn't stop talking about how great that adventure was for days. I am truly thankful for Jimmy's assistance, and I will be forever grateful. He is a fantastic nurse, and he deserves recognition for going above and beyond.
