My 2-month-old daughter was transferred to the children's hospital for suspected infantile spasms; we got her bed in the nursery at 2 am. This was an extremely hard and frightening experience, especially as a new mother. In the morning, Jennifer was our nurse, and she came and explained all the services available to me. I live 3 hours away from the hospital, so I was by myself, and Jennifer took the extra time to give me the support I needed. She helped me order breakfast, stocked my daughter's room, and brought me things to shower. She showed me around, when I got back from showering she was talking with my baby, she fed her and changed her, Jennifer was giving my daughter the attention she wanted. Jennifer made me feel like we weren't alone. While all staff at the hospital were great Jennifer stood out because she took the time to make sure I was taken care of, to make sure I was supported, she made me feel safe to leave my daughter and go get food which is hard having ppa. I could go on and on about Jennifer and the care she provides because she provided excellent care the whole time. Jennifer was our nurse every day, and we were there through to our discharge. While my daughter was having her video eeg being done she didn't like being in the bed, she loves being held. Jennifer made her a safe nest, which made it easier for my baby to be in bed, and it made her happy.

During our stay, it was clear to me that Jennifer is an Extraordinary Nurse who goes above and beyond for her patients and their families. It wasn't just the amazing care she gave, it was her attitude, her smile, she genuinely cares about her patients. My daughter loved Jennifer. Every time she saw Jennifer, she smiled and talked to her in her baby talk. Jennifer made our experience easier through her genuine care, her diligence, and her contagious smile, which really makes you feel seen and cared for. Jennifer is an Extraordinary Nurse who goes above and beyond.
