Sierra’s actions provided comfort and support to both of them during this challenging time.
B traveled from Sarasota to visit his family in Fairplain, Michigan. During his trip, he decided to go to the driving range. While there, he began to feel heartburn and weakness in his legs, prompting a visit to the Emergency Room. After evaluation and testing, B was admitted to the Cardiac Progressive unit. He called his wife to update her on his condition, and she made plans to drive to Michigan. They have two older dogs with different needs, so she had to find a pet-friendly hotel for the night before completing the trip.

While on her way, B’s wife reached Chattanooga and started experiencing significant abdominal pain due to a Crohn’s flare-up. She checked into a hotel but soon had to go to the emergency room, where she was admitted. With the dogs back at the hotel and no available kennels due to a lack of vaccination documentation, B shared his concerns with his nurse, Sierra.

Sierra, showing remarkable compassion, contacted her cousin in Chattanooga. Her cousin was able to drive to the hospital, get the hotel key, and care for the dogs for four days. Neither B nor his wife expected to be hospitalized for five days or more, especially in different states. Sierra’s actions provided comfort and support to both of them during this challenging time. Her kindness and dedication made a significant difference, reaching to Chattanooga and easing their fears.
