Our family has been Le Bonheur patients for almost six years. From routine follow-ups to emergency needs to planned operations, we have met countless Le Bonheur employees. One employee rises to the top for our family, and that is Rebecca Claire in Urology. She is warm, friendly, kind, and approachable. Becca engages both the parent and patient. She has impressive emotional intelligence and explains procedures clearly to both parties. She met our son for a procedure, and she remembered him approximately two years later. Our son has a lot of anxiety surrounding doctor appointments, and he normally doesn’t engage with doctors or nurses. While she was the person who did an invasive procedure on him (urodynamics) he has been most comfortable with her out of anyone, and that’s a reflection of her spirit and the gift that she is to this hospital. She recently called me about another potential procedure. After noticing I work at a school and I had various appointments (urology and nephrology) at different locations on different days, she sought to make the schedule more seamless for me as school approaches. Additionally, there was some confusion between East and Downtown offices, and she handled it with such grace and was so welcoming to me upon arrival. She talked through concerns, and her genuine care for my son was deeply felt. When we first met her (attempted urodynamics 2 years ago), she was patient and calming and never got frustrated, despite a young boy with herculean strength for pulling out catheters.
