I’m not sure where to start because this isn’t about one patient experience or positive comment. This is about a long standing reputation of compassionate care. Every week during leader rounding and discharge call backs, JR is mentioned. Each and every patient says the same thing: JR is so kind, compassionate, explains everything in detail, doesn’t act rushed, tucks me in during the middle of the night… it goes on… Not only does this nurse give compassionate and consistent care to patients, he is a great coworker and staff member. JR is reliable and helpful to their coworkers. Helps wherever they can. Always trains new nurses and never complains. Always steps up without anyone asking. It’s always said: if we could clone JR, we would!! Again, I could mention one specific case but that wouldn’t do justice to the level of care that JR gives. JR deserves to be recognized for making a positive change in the MedSurg culture. As of April, this nurse has already been recognized 18 times, by patients alone, on Bucket List for the outstanding care they give.
