The 5 West team is full of compassionate team members caring for their patients but also for themselves. We have endured and supported our team members who are facing their own family members' journey with cancer. Through thoughts, prayers, and generous gift baskets or gift cards, we stand TOGETHER. We strive to provide the best care to our patients and make long-lasting connections. We fulfill last wishes, praise strength, hold hands until the last breath, and clap out the patients walking out at the end of their treatment. We hold support groups for our entire team to ensure their well-being and continued success. I am a new face to this unit and have such a great appreciation for this team! There is so much to learn, and everyone is always so willing to help or take a moment to teach a new skill. Patients are always very complimentary of the care that they receive here. I immediately noticed the compassion and kindness demonstrated by the team. We get through the challenges together and bring smiles to our patients' faces.
