Debbie is the face behind many of the nursing recognition efforts not only at Troy but the East region. Debbie is an active participant in the nursing recognition committee at the system level and the chair of our local Troy Committee. One example of Debbie’s commitment to recognition comes in the form of the trophies awarded to the Nursing Excellence Award winners, largely due to her efforts of Debbie in designing, ordering, and delivering them to help make the award feel special. The passion and forethought Debbie has for recognition are truly amazing. She has become the go-to person for our division for gift collections/ideas. She has championed the team-building efforts in our leadership group and challenges us to go outside our comfort zone, i.e., goat yoga. She is the driving force for the wellness carts in critical/progressive care and Med/Surg, ensuring we have “goodies” to pass out each week to the staff. Administrative professional's day, boss’s day, grieving a loss, or whatever else comes up, Debbie is on top of recognition and coordination to do something for the individual(s). She is always looking for ways to recognize others. Years ago, she created an honor guard program in Troy, and still today, her team comes together to honor those nurses who have passed. The dedication to recognition and honoring others that Debbie continually displays makes her worthy of her being nominated for this award.
