Considerate professional who made my hospital stay comfortable. Having been at the hospital for a week, I had several nurses (some were good) but Lani stands above all of them. Coming out of ACDF surgery, I was in extreme pain. Lani made sure she had a good plan to manage it using all the medications that were approved by the doctors. She regularly checked on me to find out the pain level, provided pain medications on a timely basis, listened to everything I was going through, and answered all my questions and concerns—I felt heard. Thanks to her, I was able to manage my pain effectively. Additionally, she was also very good at sharing the things that were successful for my pain management to the nurse on the next shift, so that my pain could continue to be managed effectively. Lani is authentic in her interactions. She is very compassionate, an active listener, and readily shows empathy. Some things that all patients need during a hospital stay. In my opinion, she has raised the standard of nursing care. She is truly a Godsend for patients and an asset to the Baptist nursing staff. She fully embodies the spirit of the DAISY Award.
