I am writing to nominate Zobair Moaleji (Z) for the DAISY Award in recognition of the exceptional care and compassion he provided to my uncle during his time of need. I came from West Virginia to see my uncle in California after a stroke. I arrived in California, and not even 24 hours later, my uncle had to return to the hospital due to complications from his CVA.
On the Step-Down Unit, Z went above and beyond in caring for my uncle, and his dedication truly made a difference during his stay. From the moment I met Z, it was evident that not only did he possess the necessary medical expertise but also a genuine warmth and empathy that immediately put me at ease. His calm and reassuring presence helped our family navigate a challenging and stressful time, and his unwavering commitment to providing my uncle with high-quality, person-centered care was truly remarkable.
Throughout my uncle's stay, Z demonstrated exceptional clinical skills and attention to detail. He took the time to explain all procedures and treatments in a way that my family could understand. He always made sure to involve us in decision-making regarding my uncle's care.
