When my daughter's situation changed, she demonstrated extreme confidence concerning her care plan and advocated until the team fully assembled.
Our daughter was admitted to the hospital at 35 weeks into her pregnancy. The staff accessed her situation and contacted the doctor who was on call. At the change of shifts, Myeshia became her nurse, encourager, cheerleader, and biggest advocate! While assessing her situation, she remained in constant communication with her doctor as to whether they got to continue bedrest and get her home for Christmas or remain in the hospital until delivery.

As the evening progressed, Myeshia was absolutely certain that my daughter needed to remain in the hospital until delivery. Although she was in constant phone communication with the doctor on her occurrence status, she advocated for my daughter and urged the doctor to be on her way. Unsure about the exact time the doctor could arrive, Myeshia asked my daughter if she felt comfortable with another doctor assessing her situation. The senior resident checked my daughter and confirmed Nurse Johnson's assessment. Within the hour, the doctor arrived, my daughter pushed one time and we now have a beautiful, healthy Christmas miracle!

Although this was Christmas Eve/Christmas morning, Nurse Johnson let us know there was no better place to be other than helping new life enter this world! When my daughter's situation changed, she demonstrated extreme confidence concerning her care plan and advocated until the team fully assembled. When I saw sweet V enter this world Christmas morning, looking blue, with an umbilical cord wrapped three times around her neck....Then, we heard that first cry! Ohhh how thankful we are for Myeshia!!!  Every Christmas, we will celebrate Nurse Johnson because, for such a time as this, she allowed the Great Physician to work through her, as evidenced through the life of our sweet baby!
