I feel my dad's peaceful transition was due to her... and I can't imagine having to navigate the whole process without her help.
My Dad was able to return home with hospice care. After an 11-day hospital stay, he wanted to go home where he could be comfortable and surrounded by those he knew and loved. Angie was one of the nurses assigned to my dad and she had weekend shifts. She showed up on Saturday morning and was this delightful spirit that helped my dad smile, laugh, and get a bit of his spark back. Dad was always a bit of a flirt; Angie bantered back and forth with him like a champ. I'm not sure we could have found a better angel at that given time. She helped us take care of his physical needs, helped me understand how to best help my dad (and me) and helped us understand just how near my dad was to the end of his life. Because of her compassion, observation, and care - we were able to ensure close family paid one last visit or received a call from my dad and he passed peacefully in his own home during the early morning hours the next day. I feel my dad's peaceful transition was due to her... and I can't imagine having to navigate the whole process without her help. She made all the calls and took care of everything. To say Angie was a Godsend is an understatement. Thank you!
