Today, we have been slammed with admits, discharges, and calls/lights that were out of control, and we must say, Heather Wilkie, RN, came on the floor and literally saved us. She came in and asked if there was anything she could do for us. Everyone was frustrated and in tears! She just started answering lights, changing linens with incontinent patients, passing meds, fixing IVs, and ambulating patients. She did so much more, too numerous to count the tasks! She is truly a remarkable employee and someone to recognize what she brings to the table here @ LH! Attitudes changed when she got here! She arrived on the floor around 1530ish and never left until after 1840. Thank you, Heather, for helping us. We appreciate you very much! Thank You from, all 6 South RN’s And PCT’s.

Heather has gone above and beyond for my mother. She's done several things techs usually do. She even took her dinner tray out of the room! In all my years in and out of various hospitals (many), I've never once seen an RN do that (or change linens and other small, thoughtful tasks). Her positive attitude and work ethic are exactly what a professional RN should strive for. She's exceptional and deserves all the flowers, not just the daisies, but the DAISY Award is a great start!
