I can’t tell you enough how much Caylee has affected my care. She is an amazing nurse who can push me to where I need to be, give me that tough love that I need, and also help me through it all.
Caylee is awesome. She did everything she could to make me feel better from my illness and also to feel better about myself. She would make sure I wasn’t in any pain. And you know what’s funny? We started off on the wrong foot. I had to go to the bathroom and called on my call light, and I didn’t get an answer right away. But Caylee did come to my room and apologized. She said, “Hey, let me tell you something: we had an emergency, and we had to take care of it; please be a little more patient.” She said this in such a respectful manner and in a way that made me understand the assignment. Caylee was feisty, and I loved it. We got along. We understood each other in that way. I have been a patient here three times, and while I am grateful for the care of all the nurses that have taken care of me, and believe me, I would like to nominate them all, Caylee really stood out as the wonderful nurse that she is. I couldn’t have asked for better care.

This is the second nomination I am writing for Caylee. I had written a nomination before, but then I had another experience with this wonderful lady, which I had to add to her nomination. Caylee just surprises me every day. Today, I was working with physical therapy, and I was very apprehensive about using my new prosthesis. In fact, the idea of using the prosthesis scared the living beep out of me, and I am a grown man. I hate to admit that I am fearful of anything. The physical therapist was talking me through how to use my prosthesis and really pushing me to do so. I became angry, and I hated how angry I became, but it was only because I was fearful. Caylee was in the room for this whole encounter. She was there for me because she knew I needed her support. She looked at me and said, “You are going to do this.” She looked me in the eye and told me exactly what I was going to do; now, the important thing that Caylee did at that moment, even though she was bossing me around and telling me what I was going to do, she also held out a hand to help me through it. She made me feel safe. She let me know that she was going to be there to help me through it all. I can’t tell you enough how much Caylee has affected my care. She is an amazing nurse who can push me to where I need to be, give me that tough love that I need, and also help me through it all.
